Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What are
appropriate items for the treasure chest?
A: Please see: A Sample of Appropriate Items for the Treasure Chest Back to TopQ: How many toys
are needed to fill a treasure chest?
A: The treasure chest is 3 1/2 ft long x 2 1/2 ft wide x 3 ft high. Large stuffed animals take up more space than coloring books and crayons. Therefore, an assortment of toys are needed. Back to TopQ: Can “gently
used” or used toys be donated?
A: All donated toys must be new. Exposing these patients to any outside germs or viruses could be very harmful, especially to the children undergoing chemotherapy. Back to TopQ: Is it possible
to sponsor the same month every year?
A: Yes, or you can make a one time donation. We appreciate any donation at any time. Back to TopQ: Can I make a
monetary donation in someone’s memory?
A: Yes, some people like to choose a particular month of importance or significance to remember their loved one. If an address and name is given at the time of your donation, a card will be sent to the family informing them of your contribution. Back to TopQ: How do I get
the donated toys to the hospital?
A: We can either arrange to pick up the donated toys at your location or you can meet one of our volunteers at the hospital. We ask individuals or groups wanting to come to the hospital to please call the local “treasure chest” coordinator to schedule a time. Phone numbers can be accessed via our website at www.ImAKoolKid.org. Back to TopQ: Where do I get an “I’M A KOOL KID”™ treasure chest?A: Our national sponsor, Lowe’s Home Improvement, builds the treasure chests which are permanently placed at selected Children’s Hospitals. Our goal is to have at least one “I’M A KOOL KID” treasure chest in every state. Back to TopQ: Can I see
pictures of what a completed treasure chest looks like and find out more
information?
A: Sure! Please visit our Web site at www.koolkid.org for pictures and additional information. Back to Top |
