~ At many of our events and speaking
engagements, I am often asked, "How do you find the time to volunteer
with 5 children?" My answer, "It's because I am a mother of 5
children that I volunteer. I believe when children experience
the value of "hands-on" volunteering at an early age they
realize that they are never too young to help make a positive
difference in the lives of others. Hopefully this rewarding
experience will continue into their adult lives and they will always
find the time to volunteer."

THANK YOU to all those who attended the bone marrow
drive last Saturday for 2 year old Jacob Rickman from
Columbia, SC . We heard the event was a huge
success with many in attendance. Please keep
Jacob, his family and all the other children in your
prayers as they wait for a bone marrow match. If you
have not been tested, please do so and take a friend to
be tested too. The test is very simple and can save the
lives of many.

Melanie Conger,
RN, flew to Denver, CO for
the dedication of the 7th treasure chest at the Denver Children's
Hospital. This special treasure chest was sponsored by the
Interact Club at Ranum High School and dedicated in memory of
the Columbine High School students and their teacher who lost their
lives on April 20, 1999. This special chest is located in a very busy
emergency room and always welcomes new toys to help keep it filled.
Thank you!
